AI Interview Assistant or Real Interview Preparation?

Reviewed and updated 2026-07-28.

“AI interview assistant” can describe very different products. One category helps before the interview: organizing real experience, practicing questions, and improving delivery. Another attempts to generate live answers during an interview. Evaluate the product boundary, employer rules, privacy disclosures, and whether you can stand behind the answer without the tool.

  1. Who supplies the underlying facts?A preparation tool should make it easy to review and correct your history. It should not invent employers, scope, metrics, or decisions.
  2. When is the AI intended to be used?Practice can challenge and rewrite. Interview-day support should respect the employer’s rules and avoid covert impersonation.
  3. Can you explain the answer yourself? The durable goal is retrieval and communication. If the answer disappears when the tool does, preparation has not transferred.
  4. What data leaves the device?Check whether résumé text, audio, transcripts, and job descriptions are sent to service providers and how deletion works.
  5. Does the product promise “undetectable” use? That positioning shifts risk to the candidate and avoids the real question of consent and credibility.
  6. Does success create lasting value?A reusable story bank and career timeline can support later interviews, applications, and negotiation without rebuilding from zero.

InterviewAlly is built for preparation you can stand behind: verified stories, realistic practice, and user-controlled interview-day recall.
